Seperate the polygon into solvable shapes (ie: squares and triangles)
When I split it up, I ended up with 4 different triangles and a square.
From there, just measuer out the shapes and solve for their areas. Then add the totals, and you have your answer. In this case, it is 35.5 units^2.
