Q - 7/ 1/2= 6/ 1/2
cross multiply left numerator by right denominator and then right numerator by left denominator
(Q - 7)(1/2)= (1/2)(6)
1/2Q - 3 1/2= 3
Add 3 1/2 to both sides
1/2Q= 6 1/2
convert 6 1/2 to improper fraction
1/2Q= (6*2+1)/2
1/2Q= 13/2
divide both sides by 1/2
Q= 13/2 / 1/2
to divide a fraction, we multiply by the inverse of 1/2
Q= (13/2)(2/1)
the 2 cancels out
Q= 13

ANSWER: Q=13

Hope this helps!  :)
