The defense of the Alamo became the reason martyr event for the fight for independence from Mexico. "Remember the Alamo" becomes the mantra for soldiers and allies to contribute to the forces for independence. Being so many Texans were Anglos, the US was more willing to show support and help with the revolution after witnessing the commitment of the revolutionaries at the Alamo.
