What role did Henry Cabot Lodge play in the Senate's rejection of the Treaty of Versailles?

Henry Cabot Lodge served as the leader of the senators who rejected the Treaty of Versailles. Lodge was the Senate Majority Leader during that time and he opposed the treaty. Lodge drafted 14 reservations that reduced the League of Nations' control over the United States.
