The cavity that has been penetrated by the bullet that
enters the left lung and collapses it is the pleural cavity. The pleural cavity
is found between the two pulmonary pleurae that exhibits the characteristics of
being thin and a space that is filled with a fluid. It is also considered to be
a serous membrane that forms a membranous pleural sac that is two layered.
