False. They are opposites. Figurative is not literal, denotative is literal.

It is false.Figurative, according to the dictionary, means metaphorical.This way you compare the real thing to something that exists .If it is figurative, it is not literal and what is literal is connected with the primary meaning of the word.Figurative meaning tends to exagerate  the characteristics of  a person or thing.
