Generally speaking, after the pullman strike ended, the majority of workers went back to work, since although they were upset with working conditions they needed the money.

Answer: Went back to work

Explanation:

After the Pullman Stike ended, many workers went back to work. While they were upset with the working hours and lower wages, they needed the money to survive. If they resigned from the union, they were accepted back into the jobs they had before.
