B - his daughter's hand in marriage. When a lord offered his vassal his daughter's hand in marriage, he was essentially elevating his status and enabling him to become the new lord of the land in case the lord did not have a firstborn son before already. In any case, when a vassal would receive the hand of a daughter's lord, this was seen as a great privilege and great honour which could elevate the status of a person significantly.
