Percents are always whatever number over 100:

So for example, 35% is really 35/100:

35/100 as a number is .35

So when you get a percent and need to convert to a number, just divide by 100.

Hope this helps!

1.)Write the percent as a fraction over 100.
Say the percent is 40%
It would be written like this: [tex] \frac{40}{100} [/tex]
2.)Then divide 40 by 100
The answer would be 0.4. 40 as a fraction is 0.4.
This is how you convert a percent to a number
