The müller-lyer illusion exists in cultures in which there are buildings that have lot of corners.
According to the carpentered-world theory, Müller-Lyer illusion (that is an 
optical illusion which consist of a stylized arrow) does not exist in certain "primitive" societies since they are not encompassed by straight lines and corners.
