What lessons does the Holocaust have for people today?

Perhaps the greatest lesson to be drawn from the Holocaust is that evil at extreme levels is capable of being one by anyone (such as the "normal" Germans who carried out the crimes), and that it is extremely important to study the mistakes of the past in order to not make them in the future.
