The total of the numbers in the data set is equal to the product of 48 and 7 which is equal to 336. Now, because 104 is removed from the set, the new sum would only be 232. Dividing this value by 6, which is the sum of the remaining numbers. The answer would be 38.67.

Subtracting the initial mean and the mean after removal of 104 will give us an answer of 9.33.
