We are given the function
f(x) = x^2
We are asked for the Upper Reimann sum over the interval [-1, 1]
with the partition
p = [-1, -1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1]
The Upper Reimann sum is
(-1/4 - (-1))(-1)²+  (1/2 - (-1/4))(-1/4)² +  (3/4 - 1/2)(1/2)² + (1 - 3/4)(3/4)² = 1
The answer is 1
