It makes them have to be and act a certain way or playa certain role because of their gender. Like the female has to be helpless and the male has to come and save her in some type of way.
There are certain stereotypes that they think they must fulfill for male or female roles. Plus, they may not have as much respect for the opposite gender in the film industry (especially males towards females).
