We have a regression model to predict y from the value of x.

The equation of this regression line is:

[tex]y=4x-8[/tex]

We then can calculate y for x = 7 as:

[tex]y(7)=4(7)-8=28-8=20[/tex]

Answer: the predicted value of y when x = 7 is y(7) = 20
