I'm doing linear equations and one if the things says y = -x so do i plug in the x that i have already and just switch it to the opposite integer????

To solve for y we will have to simply replace the value of x and the solution we write it in the equivalent palce for y, that is:

For x = -5:

[tex]y=-(-5)\Rightarrow y=5[/tex]

For x = -2:

[tex]y=-(-2)\Rightarrow y=2[/tex]

For x = 0:

[tex]y=0[/tex]

For x = 3:

[tex]y=-3[/tex]
