Given:

Cost of computer without tax $1800.

Total cost including tax is $1890

[tex]\text{Tax amount =1890-1800}[/tex][tex]\text{Tax amount = \$90}[/tex]

Let the tax rate be x

[tex]90=1800\times\frac{x}{100}[/tex][tex]\frac{90}{18}=x[/tex][tex]x=5[/tex]

Tax rate is 5%
