David and Mark win some money and share it in the ratio 2:1. David gets £24 more than Mark. How much did they get altogether?

If David got more money, then that means he is taking majority of the ratio, which is the 2. To find the total amount, we can first find Marks quantity and add together.
24/2= 12. 24+12=36
