What clues tell scout that the man in the corner is not a countryman?

Some clues that the man in the corner was not from the country were his feathery hair, white hands that hadn't been in the sun and signs of work on his hands. Scout eventually learned who the man in the corner really was, he was Arthur. She had thought he was from the country since he was not offered a chair.
