The sum of the 5 consecutive numbers,

x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4

= x + x + x + x + x + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4

= 5x + 10

To prove : -

The sum of any 5 consecutive natural numbers is divisible by 5.

Proof : -

( 5x + 10 ) / 5
