Answer:

I think prejudice exist because we like to assume and label things. It helps us better understand who/what we are communicating with, and also helps us better talk with the person. Unfortunately, prejudice is extrememly negative and doesn't help us understand who/what we are communicating with; it just hurts their feelings and creates a terrible environment.
