The correct answer for this question would be the THALAMUS. It is the Thalamus that is part of the Central nervous system that sorts almost all of the ascending sensory information. Afferent impulses from all senses and all parts of the body converge on the thalamus and synapse with at least one of its nuclei. In general,  the thalamus plays a key role in mediating sensation, motor activities, cortical arousal, learning, and memory.
