You just need to get either x or y to cancel:
2x + (2)3y = 17
-4x - 6y = 30
So then you’d have:
2x + 6y = 17
-4x - 6y = 30, and the y’s will cancel :)
Next you combine the equations to get:
2x - 4x = 47
Now simply simplify.
-2x = 47
Divide each by -3 to get:
x = -23.5
I’m not sure if this is correct, math isn’t my strong suit but I’ve already done this algebra.
