Write an equation for the line parallel to the given line that contains C.

C(3,6); y=-4x + 1

Answer: y = -4x + 18

Both equations have the same slope.

y = -4x + b

x = 3

y = 6

6 = -4(3) + b

6 = -12 + b

6 + 12 = b
