Answer:

Lena is 3 now

Sasha is  9 now

Step-by-step explanation:

L = Lenas age

S = sasha age

Now

S = L+6

In 3 years

(S+3) = 2(L+3)

Substitute the first equation into the second

( L+6+3) = 2(L+3)

Combine like terms and distribute

L+9 = 2L+6

Subtract L from each side

L+9-L = 2L -L+6

Subtract 6 from each side

9-6 =L+6-6

Lena is 3 now

Sasha is L+3 = 3+6 = 9 now
