Argument attempts to arrive at a logical solution to an issue. But persuasive writing is concerned primarily with convincing the reader at any cost. Various appeals are used to manipulate the reader. Persuasive writing has a definite bias, or lack of objectivity. Its function is to change the mind of the reader or to move the reader to action.
