Step-by-step explanation:

[tex] \sf{ \frac{{( - 6)}^{8} }{{( - 6)}^{5} } }[/tex]

We know that:-

  • Powers of same bases,
  • When go to numerator, gets subtracted.

So,

[tex] {( - 6)}^{8 - 5} [/tex]

[tex] {( - 6)}^{3} [/tex]

[tex] = - 216[/tex]

is the answer.

Odd powers do not change the sign.

But even powers do change it.
