Working under the assumption that this takes place at constant pressure, Charles Law ; V1/ T1 = V2/T2 would be applied.

V1 = Initial Volume = 1.41L

V2 = Final Volume = ?

T1 = Initial Temperature = 170 ° C , which is (273.15 + 170)K = 443.15K

T2 = Final Temperature = 90 ° C, which is (273.15 + 90 )K =  363.15K

∴ Making V2 subject of the formular, we then have;

  V2 = V1 x T2 / T1 = 1.4L  x 363.15K / 443.15K

       = 508.41/ 443.15 = 1.15 L
