the ratio of the length to the width of a rectangle is 8:3 if the rectangle is 32 cm wide, how long is it?

I think it's;

Ratio of areas = 8:3

Wideness of the the shape = 32 cm

8:3 = 32:X

8/3 = 32/x

x = 8*3/32

= 0.75
