The MAD is the mean of the absolute values of the differences between the values of a variable and the mean of its distribution. Therefore the MAD of
[tex] x_{1} , x_{2} , ....... x_{n} [/tex] is given by:
the summation between the limits n and i=1 of
[tex] \frac{| x_{1}-\bar{x}| }{n} [/tex]
