Early detection of cancer increases the likelihood of living, increases the chance for a cure and makes it less likely that the cancer has metasasized. the time spent in hospital depends more on the the type of cancer and what treatment is appropriate. Early detection means finding the cancer whil it is still relatively simple, before large tumours and secondary tumours have developed.
