Turn 3 meters into a fraction so that you can compare it to 3/8

to make it a fraction, multiply 3 by 8
3x8= 24 so your fraction is 24/8

you know that each segment will by 3/8 long so divide your total amount of rope by 3 and since they have the same denominator, you can just divide 24 by 3
24/3=8

So your rope will have 8 pieces

I hope that helps ;)
