Solve for x: |2x + 6| − 4 = 20

Hello!


First of all, we have an absolute value. As we have no negatives, it stays the same and we get the equation below.


2x+6-4=20


We add 4 to both sides.


2x+6=24


Subtract 6 from both sides.


2x=18


Divide both sides by 2


x=9
